Yacht delivery in Spain and the Balearic Islands

Here, yacht delivery means moving your vessel by sea with a captain and any required crew aboard, navigating the boat under her own power. It does not mean transporting the yacht as cargo on a carrier or by road. The vessel must be suitable for the proposed passage.

Yes, enquiries can be assessed from Alicante and other ports in Costa Blanca, Valencia and Castellón, as well as from ports elsewhere in Spain, Europe and worldwide. Send the actual marina, destination, vessel and dates so travel, crew and passage feasibility can be reviewed.

Scope is defined for each assignment and may include an initial review, passage and weather planning, pre-departure acceptance, operational coordination, updates during the delivery and final vessel handover. The proposal records the agreed scope.

In Spain and Europe, captain fees start at €4.24/NM up to 18 m inclusive and €6.05/NM for over 18 m and up to 24 m inclusive, including 21% VAT (base rates of €3.50 and €5/NM excluding VAT). The €423.50 minimum including VAT (€350 excluding VAT) is reserved for straightforward local movements with a prepared vessel and flexible dates. Passages are quoted around preparation, navigation, handover, days required and responsibility, not miles alone. Additional crew and expenses are separate. The captain agrees the final price before booking. The VAT-inclusive per-mile price is rounded; VAT is calculated on the total captain's fees. Over 24 m, value above €5 million or other areas require individual assessment. International tax treatment is confirmed in the quote.

As an illustrative example, captain's fees start at €726 including 21% VAT (€600 excluding VAT) for a prepared motor yacht up to 18 m, worth approximately €1.2 million, with flexible dates and preparation, passage and handover fitting into one operational day. The captain must confirm these conditions. Travel and return journey, meals, accommodation, fuel, port charges and additional crew are separate. More days, a sailing yacht or a more complex operation require another assessment. Estimate for the conditions described. The €350 local-movement minimum does not apply to this passage. Any change to scope and price requires prior agreement.

It depends on duration, night navigation, vessel, weather, flag, insurance and rest requirements. Additional crew is proposed whenever safety or operating conditions require it.

Departure remains subject to a suitable weather window. If conditions change, the route, timing, alternatives or rescheduling are reviewed; safety takes priority over the calendar.
